The Baxter Springs Lions placed sixth as a team in the Kansas Class 3A State Golf Tournament, Monday and Tuesday at Topeka’s Lake Shawnee Golf Course. The Columbus 8U Rockettes won the Memorial Maynia Softball Tournament in Joplin, Mo. Friday and Saturday. The won two with no losses in pool play before winning the championship, 11-3.
