A ribbon cutting and presentation of the first dollar was held at the newest hair salon in Columbus. The Mane Look, was built from the ground up by Columbus High School Alums Hayden and Peyton Allen. They were presented their first dollar (at right) by Rebecca Spooner, Columbus Chamber of Commerce President.

Four Columbus Unified High School Seniors received the Maureen H. Paulsen Memorial Scholarship during the 2026 Senior Assembly, May 15, at the CUHS Gymnasium. Piper Hayes, Trinity Green, Mackenzie Richards, and Katelyn Draeger each received a $1,000 scholarship from CACF Board Member, Kelly Walters and USD 493 Superintendent Dan Grundy.
