Local cowboy Cal Saporito, had a wild ride in the recent Columbus Saddle Club Rodeo, May 12-14, at the Saddle Club Arena. Cal was the lone bull rider from Columbus and while his ride didn’t end as he would have wanted, the Fort Scott Community College commit, will have plenty of chances as he rides with the FSCC Rodeo Team throughout their 2026-27 season. Ron and Kay Holmes will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary June 12. The couple was married in 1976. There will be a family celebration at a later date.
